Puffer Dog Vests

Insulated puffer vests for dogs, the layer most Georgia winters call for: sleeveless, quilted and zippered, in blue, orange, pink and turquoise, a hoodie version in aqua, pink and red, and a Santa-face vest for the December walk. Our own Gussied Up label, $29.99 to $49.99.

Vests are sized by weight, from XS for dogs of 3 to 5 pounds up to XXL for 50 to 70 pounds depending on the style, and the sleeveless cut is deliberate: it keeps the core warm without restricting the shoulders, so a dog will actually walk in it. The orange and turquoise are bright enough to double as visibility on an early walk. For colder mornings, layer one over a sweater; for damp ones, a fleece vest may be all you need.

Measure chest girth first and back length second, then size up if you plan to layer; our measuring guide explains why. The rest of the cold-weather range is in winter clothes.
